Swapping holidays: how to Co-parent through the holidays

Co-parenting can be hard after a divorce, but being without your kids during the holidays might make you want to throw a turkey through your kitchen window.  But remembering to keep your children’s best interest in mind can help you and your family make it through the end of the year with all your garnishes and gobblets intact.  Here is some advice from a mediation and divorce attorney with over 20 years of experience:

1. Plan ahead: work out a schedule.

2. Be ready to change that schedule as needed.

3. Involve your kids in the planning so they know what to expect.

4. Be creative and make new traditions! If you can’t reach an agreement about old traditions, start something new. New Years is just around the corner!
